Elastomeric Roof Repair Covering

The durability of corporate and housing buildings depends on the roofing supplies selected. Elastomeric roof repair covering is a beneficial way to coat or recoat a roof, to give it a lengthier life. This type of material is also used on external walls of brickwork or concrete and exterior insulation finishing systems, as well as being a superior roof material.
Elastomeric coatings have several unique properties that allow them to be a good choice when you need elasticity and elongation.

Elastomeric Roof Coating
Acrylic roof coating is beneficial to commercial and housing buildings in more ways than one. The white finish creates a cool roof, which replicates sunlight and makes the building more energy-efficient. It also protects your roof from harmful weather elements. As they age, these coatings may become dirty and lose reflectivity. Select one that is dirt-resistant.

Elastomeric roof varnish is also used in exterior insulation finishing systems, in the form of finish coats with a flexible texture. These coatings are beneficial because their soft polymers allow better penetration and sealing of cracks. Since they have good elongation and the ability to bridge cracks, they maintain a continuous membrane even where movement is involved.

The insulating properties of ThermaCote

Ceramic coating addresses all three modes of heat transfer:
o Radiation – it repels radiated heat;
o Convection – it reflects convected heat;
o Conduction – it resists conducted heat.

 Ceramics are most effective at reflecting heat back to the source:
o Ultra Violet (UV) heat (3% of heat);
o Visual Light (short wave) heat (40% of heat);
o Infrared (long wave) heat (57% of heat).

ThermaCote’s ceramic qualities continue to work AFTER the coating gets dirty, which is what happens to all coatings eventually:
o A warranty plan is recommended.

Acrylic Coatings & Maintenance

As soon as applying coatings in excess of an obtainable roof under guarantee, the construction owner should check with obtainable roofing system producer, as this covering application may annul guarantee. In all cases, the obtainable roofing system has to be in sound situation. Mule - Hide is NOT conscientious for any imperfection in the obtainable roofing classification. The information herein ought not to be measured comprehensive & should forever be along with high-quality application perform. The applicator has sole liability for the excellence of application of the covering structure. Mule - Hide need appropriate exterior grounding of the presented roofing system. To mend splits, blister, & other exterior imperfection, it advises that they be mending in harmony with the available NRCA Repair labor-intensive for Low-Slope Roofing structure strategy preceding to application of Mule - Hide Elasomeric Coatings.

High humidity & cool temperatures hold back to curing. Don’t apply Elastomeric Acrylic Coatings if endure conditions will not authorize total cure. Mule - Hide covering are not planned for use over annoy facade Refer to Mule - Hide covering requirement manual for particulars previous to application.

Winterizing Your Roof

Your roof was designed with only one purpose in mind: to keep the elements from getting in your home. Along with its walls, the people inside your home depend on your ceiling to provide them with shelter. More than any other season, winter will put that roof of yours to the test. If you want to make it through winter without worrying about the cold, you need to put elastomeric roof coatings. Keep reading to find out what that entails and what your options are.

Clean the Gutters

Winterizing your roof starts long before snow falls. But don’t begin before the leaves do either. Ideally, you want to get out there right between the two events so you can clean all that foliage out of your gutters. Leaves and other debris can weigh down your gutters during winter, making the snow that lands in there even worse. But the real problem comes when that snow melts, turns to water and has nowhere to go because their exit is blocked. All that weight could be enough to tear the gutters from your home.

ROOF-REPAIR SAFETY TIPS

Working on a roof can be risky. Keep these safety precautions in mind before dealing with a roof repair :

·         Roof maintenances should be done on a sunny day when the roof is completely dry. A wet roof is slippery and very dangerous.
·         Adequate safety precautions must be taken for any roof repairs. Always use safety ropes.
·         On steep roofs, use a ladder framework to provide secure attaching.
·         Rubber-soled shoes provide the best grip when working on a roof.
·         The location of power lines should be kept in mind when working on a roof

Steel Roofing

STEEL ROOFING
Surface temperature must be at least 10º C ( 50º F) before applying acrylic steel roofing.  Tighten all screws or replace them with the next largest size if they are spinning. Remove loose rust, dirt, oily residues with high pressure wash. Rusted steel roofing must be primed with a good quality rust primer such as our Rustite Direct to Metal Rust Primer. Problem seams and holes can be filled with our Lap Joint Sealer or sealed using our Tape-Kote Roof Seam Tape. (Safe-T-Plex forms a watertight adhesive bond to this tape.)  Apply Tape-Kote Seam Tape around all objects that protrude through the roof (air conditioners, vents, breather pipes, etc.).

STEEL ROOF APPLICATION
All rusty roof surfaces must be primed using Rustite Metal Primer at least 24  hours prior to applying Safe-T-Plex Elastomeric Roof Coating.
Do not apply Safe-T-Plex if rain, heavy dew, or frost appears imminent during the next 24 hours. Minimum temperature during application and curing must be 10ºC (50ºC).

Energy Saving Coatings-Radiant Barrier Paint

Energy Saving Coatings Radiant Barrier Paint- Transform your ordinary paint into an Energy Saving, Thermal Blocking Coating that anyone can apply.
Using technology developed by NASA in the 1950′s to maintain astronaut’s temperature inside their space suits on space walks, this revolutionary radiant barrier paint additive is an inexpensive and easy-to-use radiant barrier material now available to the general public.
Energy Saving Coatings’s non-toxic, chemically stable ceramic microspheres ( glass bubbles) mixed with any paint can effectively block up to 97% of harmful UV Rays. Energy Saving Coatings can be applied to the exterior and interior of your building to PROTECT it from the radiant heat of the sun.  The increased radiant barrier properties of Energy Saving Coatings lower energy bills and, as an added bonus, Energy Saving Coatings insulates from sound as well!

1. Energy Saving Coatings can be blended with all paints – water, oil or resin based
2. Energy Saving Coatings Radiant Barrier paint additive Lowers Energy Costs Energy Saving Coatings, Insulates sound as well as heat if applied correctly
3. Energy Saving Coatings Radiant Barrier Paint reflects up to 98% of harmful UV rays
4. The reflective properties of Energy Saving Coatings prevent the sun’s energy (both visible and infrared spectrums) from being absorbed, thereby reducing surface temperatures. Exterior surfaces coated with Energy Saving Coatings will maintain the same temperature as the surrounding air temperature.
5. Energy Saving Coatings can be sprayed, rolled or brushed
6. Can be applied to any surface you would ordinarily paint
