The Importance of a Cool Roof

Energy-efficient, cool roofing systems can significantly reduce roof temperatures during the summer, which does in fact improve the performance of the photovoltaic system.  Another benefit of a cool roof is that it can significantly enhance the performance of solar panels by lowering a building’s interior temperature, thus reducing the power load necessary for air conditioning during hot summer days. This has many benefits including cutting energy costs by keeping attics and ducts cooler, improving occupant comfort, cutting maintenance costs, increasing the life cycle of the roof, and reducing urban heat islands along with associated smog.

How a black roof stains is removed from shingles?

Roof Stain removal is possible! Choose between two common roof washing solutions used to :
do it yourself roof cleaning using a roof cleaning product, or using roof cleaning services from a professional roof cleaning business. The difference between the roof cleaning company and DIY roof cleaning is cost, and results.
·         Hire a Roof Cleaning Professional
A roof cleaning business has experience at the shingle cleaning methods and suitable pressure to use with roof wash products. Years of experience will typically result in more complete removal of roof stains.

·         Do It Yourself Roof Stain Removal
Search for “Roof Cleaning Products” to find roof cleaner suppliers who offer roof cleaning chemicals, but be cautious to know the company and what products they offer.  Trust roof cleaner supply companies that offer multiple formulas and preventive solutions as well.
When you clean your own roof shingles be prepared to set aside an afternoon, and get your ladder out. There is no magic bullet when it comes to Roof Washing, and you will at least need a ladder to get up to the level of the drain. The closer you are to the roof stains, the better your Roof Stain Removal Products will work.
So black stains on roofs can be removed, just choose a quality roof cleaner product or your local roof cleaning professional and make your roof look better!

White Roofs

Can light-colored rooftops and roads really curb carbon emissions and combat global climate change? The idea has been around for years, but now, a new study by researchers at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory that is the first to use a global model to study the question has found that implementing cool roofs and cool pavements in cities around the world can not only help cities stay cooler, they can also cool the world, with the potential of cancelling the heating effect of up to two years of worldwide carbon dioxide emissions.

Because white roofs reflect far more of the sun’s heat than black ones, buildings with white roofs will stay cooler. If the building is air conditioned, less air conditioning will be required, thus saving energy. Even if there is no air conditioning, the heat absorbed by a black roof both heats the space below, making the space less comfortable, and is also carried into the city air by wind raising the ambient temperature in what is known as the urban heat island effect. Additionally, there’s a third, less familiar way in which a black roof heats the world: it radiates energy directly into the atmosphere, which is then absorbed by the nearest clouds and ends up trapped by the greenhouse effect, contributing to global warming.

Why Is Liquid EPDM (Rubber) The Best Choice?

  • The Liquid version of EPDM is identical to the sheet version EPDM, but because it's a liquid you will never need to worry about seams. Also the liquid version will not chalk like sheet EPDM does after 7-8 years.
  • The temperature this product can endure ranges from -40 F to over 300 F.
  • Unlike any elastomeric, acrylic or urethane -- you can apply EPDM 3 times thicker.
  • With only one coat needed, and no primers on most surfaces, you save product and labor costs.
  • A DIY product with 25 years of success.
  • We challenge you to compare any other product which will waterproof upon application that’s right a light rain directly after application will not affect the material or its performance 365 days a year.
  • Accelerated aging testing has shown EPDM Liquid Coating to out-perform any elastomeric as well as urethane, performing over 3 times longer.
  • Liquid EPDM rubber is good for virtually any surfaces. List of applicable uses
  • EPDM liquid is very versatile and can be applied to any shape or flashing as well as verticals. The liquid conforms to any shape of roof, flashing or protrusion, vertical or horizontal.

Major Producers of Building Materials!

China is one of the major producers of building materials and ranks first in the production of ceramic tiles on a global level with Shanghai as one of the largest commercial centers for production of building materials. The country represents huge demand for wall covering products such as mosaic tiles, concrete blocks for outer wall material, roof tiles, coatings, paints, and the like. With huge untapped potential, India is an enticing market for wall covering manufacturers. India’s entry into the WTO has opened up the wallpaper market to foreign manufacturers. Demand for ceramic wall tiles is expected to show high growth in the region. Latin America displays a positive note with booming markets such as Brazil and Chile boding bright prospects for architectural coatings.
Europe and Asia-Pacific constitute two of the largest regional markets, as stated by the new market research report on Wall Coverings. In terms of most promising growth potential, Asia-Pacific, backed by China, India, Indonesia, Thailand and others is the clear winner, and forecast to expand at aCAGR of more than 3.0% through 2015.
The Interior Paints segment continues to hold sway as the single largest market. However, with changing consumer preferences, Wallpaper is forecast to make a comeback after years of suspended activity and profits, and register the fastest CAGR for the period 2007–2015. Hitherto untapped regions such as Asia-Pacific, Latin America and Middle East, which have traditionally been strong markets for interior paints, display huge potential for future growth and expansion of wallpapers segment.

The insulating properties of ThermaCote

Ceramic coating addresses all three modes of heat transfer:
o Radiation – it repels radiated heat;
o Convection – it reflects convected heat;
o Conduction – it resists conducted heat.

Ceramics are most effective at reflecting heat back to the source:
o Ultra Violet (UV) heat (3% of heat);
o Visual Light (short wave) heat (40% of heat);
o Infrared (long wave) heat (57% of heat).

ThermaCote’s ceramic qualities continue to work AFTER the coating gets dirty, which is what happens to all coatings eventually:
o A warranty plan is recommended.

Water based Acrylic Coatings!

Water based acrylic paints/coatings have been used commercially for decades universal & their better presentation intended for long expression adornment & defense is well established. Until now lots of community still doesn’t realize the dissimilarity between water based (acrylic) paint & solvent-based (alkyd) paint, says the APMF.

Water based paints coatings are put together with resins which have a diverse element composition than those used in conservative paint (solvent-based). The acrylic chemistry is extremely alike to that used in acrylic plastic sheet & molding fine particles, with well recognized applications, street light wrap, together with outdoor enlighten signs & rear-light covers.

Further than conflicting in chemical arrangement from alkyd resins, it also dry by dissimilar mechanisms. The acrylic emulsion contains tiny spheres of polymers held in suspension in water.
When a lean film is applied to the exterior, the water disappears & the bubbles are obligatory jointly by tube force. With coalescent present to make softer the surface, the spheres combine as one to form a unremitting film of polymer. This is afterward insoluble in water following the water & coalescent have dissolve from the film.

Water Based: can be applied to humid outer surface & wash-up with water
Water dead set against: decrease water diffusion on absorbent surfaces
Sticking together: excellent bond to real & mainly ordinary construction outer surface
Tarnish unwilling: enhanced confrontation to petrol , oil, & mild chemical stains
Long-lasting: stand firm mold and mildew discoloration

The water based acrylic coatings can be used on a number of tangible or cement foundation products including:
Cement Render
Concrete Pavers
Roof Tiles
Platters, Bricks & Masonry
Mortars and Grouts

ThermaCote Roof and Wall Coatings!!

ThermaCote is a spray applied Thermal Barrier which in it's simplest definition could be described as an 'energy saving paint'. When dry, ThermaCote looks just like flat latex paint, yet conserves energy. Technically, Thermacote is a high performance Thermal Barrier which incorporates ceramic technology to prevent the transfer of heat or cold. It is also available in liquid form. Repels over 600 degress similar to what they use with space shuttles.
Lightweight:
At 5 pounds per gallon (<2.27 kilos per 3.78 liters) ThermaCote is the original lightweight coating (we pioneered them in the mid 1980’s) and will only add approximately 6–12 lbs. a square when properly applied to a roof or any other structure that weight gain from protective coatings might become an issue.
Self-Priming:
The product contains built in rust/ corrosion inhibitors which make it self-  priming unless dealing with harsh or large areas of rust. The lack of chlorides allows ThermaCote to apply directly to stainless steel with no pitting. Use ThermaCote as the primer on new or old Sheetrock for a room to room radiant barrier and air ceiling. ThermaCote primes new or fresh blasted steel while at the same time adding radiant properties against transmission of hot or cold. Make ThermaCote the first coat on new exterior concrete and block walls for a never peel finish that provides paintable protection against U/ V and moisture penetration. Sticks to plastic, glass, wood, all metals, concrete and masonry surfaces, fiberglass, Styrofoam and foam products, paper products and almost any surface that is clean and dry!
Low Dry Fall Rate:

5–10 feet (depending on temp and humidity) ThermaCote will not travel far wet, reducing overspray and landing on subsequent substrates as dust to be swept up.

What are the Benefits of Reflective Coverings for Rooftops?

1.       Protection for Your Existing Roof
Reflective coatings for roofs create a protective barrier between the roof substrate and the Sun.  White reflective coatings shield the roof from the chemical breakdown caused by the Sun’s damaging ultra-violet (UV) rays and help minimalize corrosion caused by the weather.  Reflecting the UV rays away from the roof, also allows the roof system’s temperature to remain lower, slowing the substrate’s rate of aging – prolonging the life span of your present roof.
2.       Benefits Are Renewable and Maintainable
Re-applying reflective coatings for roofs every 10 to 20 years provides continuous benefits while allowing you to avoid a costly-tear off indefinitely.
3.       Financially Favorable
Protecting an existing roof system with reflective coatings can be financially beneficial to building owners
4.       Energy Savings and Environmentally-Friendly
Reflective coatings for roofs also provide energy savings by reflecting the heat from the sun away from the building, allowing little to be absorbed into the building, increasing the efficiency of your HVAC unit because the inside air temperature stays lower.

Acrylic Concrete Coatings!!

The application of acrylic coatings first begins with inspection of floor area. Note the type of surface, surrounding conditions of that surface and other considerations such as cracks or drainage issues and then work according to your designing.
Starting with installations, first give pressure wash to surface area to ensure proper bonding. If there is any cracks in the surface which can be treated with proper epoxy. All edges such as a room base or pool tile are then masked off with paper and tape for protection.
After that a base coat of acrylic mortar is applied to the surface. This is scraped down and blown clean. Next, layers progress depending upon the desired finished effect. A basic, solid colour finish would have a layer of "lace" texture applied next, shot on with an air-powered hopper gun and apply flat. This is then scraped smooth and raged clean. The system is over with the sealing process.

Why You Should Apply Acrylic Roof Coatings To Roof?

There are many reasons for your house roof leaking; many people do not realize that the UV rays from the sun are the most harmful to your roofs exterior. Dark colour roofs absorb a great amount of the sun’s heat- UV rays, causing the roof to become a breakable, less elastic. When your roof becomes brittle, the membrane may lose thickness and become less protective against drips. A similar situation occurs when the roof loses the capability to expand and contract with fluctuating temperatures - cracks occur and seams split, leading to roof failure and more leaks. It is important to use one of the Acrylic Roof Coatings to protect your roof against these common side effects from the sun.

Acrylic Roof Coatings are filled with high performance UV blocking elements barring the sun’s heat to be absorbed by the roofs surface. This keeps the surface temperature of the original roof cooler, allowing no further damage or premature roof failure to occur. The roof remains flexible and strong; protecting the assets inside the building from water damage caused by leaks. The minimal heat absorption also allows the interior of the building to remain cooler, cutting energy consumption costs and usage to cool the building.

White roof coverings not only protect your roof from failures and leaks caused by the sun, they also can extend the life span of the roof indefinitely. So always use good branded Acrylic Roof Coating for your house.

Why is it Important to have an Acrylic Roof Coating?

Studies have proved that cool roof can balance Carbon Dioxide Emissions and Mitigate Global Warming. Did you know that a dark coloured roof absorbs so much heat that flows not only into the space below it but also back into the atmosphere thereby causing an urban warming or heat island effect. A white roof replicates sun’s rays and thereby absorbs much less heat, requires less energy from air conditioning therefore it’s called “COOL” roof.  A cool roof is “a gift that keeps on giving for many, many years, for the life of the roof”

Many Acrylic Roof Coating Systems are available in the market which will be excellent in waterproof capabilities and they are environmentally friendly.  So you can choose any of those coatings which would allow you to avoid expensive and time consuming roof coatings.
